Launch of Creative Directory Website

Artists, Makers, and Creatives invited to join the online directory at paducaharts.org to promote Paducah’s creative community.

The Paducah Creative & Cultural Council is launching a website with an online directory to leverage and promote local and regional artists.  The Council in partnership with the City of Paducah is inviting creatives in Paducah and the surrounding area to join the directory at paducaharts.org.

Mayor George Bray said, “The creative industry is one of the primary drivers for Paducah and is a key differentiator for the community. I am absolutely committed to helping it grow.  Paducah is a UNESCO City of Crafts and Folk Art, but even more than that, the community is full of artists, makers, and creatives who have incredible talent, enthusiasm, and vision.  This online directory will be a vital resource for making connections and promoting the entire creative community. If you know an artist, please encourage them to be a part of the paducaharts.org website.”

This online directory is key in linking artists and creatives with projects, promoting the variety of artistic categories, and elevating the creative culture in Paducah.

Creative & Cultural Council Chair Cindy Ragland said, “When the Council was formed, we quickly realized that to best serve our local creatives and creative organizations, we first needed to connect with them. This directory serves multiple purposes by both promoting our creative professionals and connecting the Council and community with their work and passion.”

The online directory features creative professionals who specialize in various disciplines including architecture, design, film, photography, art education, performing arts, visual arts, literary arts, and more.  At paducaharts.org, professionals can join the directory by submitting a survey and photos of their work. There is no fee to participate in the directory. Once listed, creatives will be searchable by art type, location, professional affiliation, and the opportunities they are seeking such as mentorships, commissions, residency programs, performance bookings, and teaching opportunities.

The Creative & Cultural Council was created in December 2019 with the mission to connect and promote the creative arts in Paducah.

Council Member April Cochran said, “When people think of Paducah, we want them to think of our unique creative atmosphere. Our Council serves as a connector. We want to connect our organizations, businesses, and local creatives with that larger creative atmosphere in order to showcase all that Paducah has to offer.”
