Paducah Parks & Recreation and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary are partnering to provide Free Vessel Safety Checks on Saturday, May 22. During these inspections, each boat will be reviewed to make sure it has the equipment required by law for safe boating. This event will be at the Ohio River Boat Launch located at 275 Burnett Street from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
The inspections are a courtesy service by members of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary in conjunction with 2021 National Safe Boating Week, May 22-28. For more information, contact the Auxiliary at 270-349-1996 or 270-748-3617.

About the Ohio River Boat Launch: The Ohio River Boat Launch which opened in 2014 is located at the intersection of North 6th and Burnett Streets north of downtown and the Julian Carroll Convention Center and the Paducah Expo Center. The lighted facility consists of an 85-space parking area, a five to six lane boat ramp, and a courtesy dock. A $2.25 million Federal Highway Administration grant funded the construction.
