The Paducah Parks & Recreation Department is hosting a Halloween-themed dog celebration with vendors from local animal shelters and businesses and a costume contest on Saturday, October 5, 2024. The event will run from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the green space near the dog parks at Noble Park. Dogs must be leashed when outside of the dog park enclosures.

The Dog Costume Contest registration will be open from 10 a.m. until 11:50 p.m. with the costume contest beginning at 12 pm. Pet owners will have the opportunity to get their dogs microchipped, vaccinated, and nails trimmed along with pet picture opportunities and educational resources.

The Wooftober Doggie Costume Contest has five entry categories:

  • Clowning Around (funniest costume)
  • Large Dog Paws-itively Pup-tastic (best overall costume)
  • Small Dog Paws-itively Pup-tastic (best overall costume)
  • Top Dog (best owner and dog costume combo)
  • Best Dog Team effort (more than two dogs all in costume)
